At SDDI Signs I was an integral part of the sign production process. Everyday I was creating 2D renderings to ensure our clients know exactly what will be produced for them. From small unit signs to big illuminated exterior signs, I'm creating press ready files for our in house production team and outside vendors as well. Bringing things from 2D to 3D is a huge part of my role in this company!
2017-2022
At Smyth Co. I worked as a Graphic Desktop Artist in the pre-press production process. On a day to day basis I worked with four color process, extended gamut and spot color treatments, color correcting photos, working with layers and trapping. Smyth provides many different packaging solutions to customers including pressure sensitive, cut & stack, in-mold labels, commercial, promotional, hang tags, and flexible packaging. They serve many markets like food, beverage, health and beauty, personal care, household and automotive. With the variety of challenges, each day here was exciting and different.
2016-2017
Cycle Force Group is a bicycle manufacturer, importer and distributor. Parent company of North America Cycles and CFG Promos. Here I focused on things like bicycle and decal design, branding, advertising, print collateral, and catalog work. I enjoyed my time here as I gained a strong understanding of the physical production of the product. It gave me a real advantage to see how the entire production process works, from factory to sending it to the customer.
My undergraduate education at Iowa State University left me with skills in branding, print, layout and packaging. Here I learned to value of form and function, thinking conceptually and how to move efficiently through the design process. I experienced a wide variety of design challenges and solutions during my four years here, while earning my BFA in Graphic Design.
